How are the funds distributed?
This was an important question for me. The funds are allocated to a Global Fund, which is the distributed to the different causes that the Hosts or Ambassadors select. The funds are then distributed to partners which apply for the funding. These partners are local organisations that work in the communities that need our help. Once a partner has been awarded funding they are then eligible for future funding and they will be reassessed at the next application. This is a good system because it allows organisations to continue to help the communities on a long term basis.

What’s in it for ME? (ME being Mike Eastwood)
As part of the Eat So They Can “Ambassadorship” they will send me on a distribution trip if we raise over $20,000 USD. However, I am working with Eat So They Can because I believe in the wonderful work they are doing. I get a huge amount of joy by contributing; and it really inspires me when people like you help me to do that.
Why aren’t you supporting a local charity?
I think Eat So They Can is making a valuable contribution to the world… and, obviously, the fit seems perfect “Eat So They Can” - me? Yep.
If you would like to get involved with a local organisation, which I love, then please ask me about Vincents Art Workshop. I have been proud to work with Vincents over several years and they are doing an amazing job here in Wellington.
What can I do to help?
There are lots of things you can do to help raise awareness and funds for Eat So They Can - I’ve made a separate “How Can I Help?” page just for this question and it will be updated regularly.
Why 16th of October?
