We did well.
Thank you seems like an understatement…
Last night’s fundraising dinner was amazing and, thanks to your generousity, we raised a total of $862.90 NZD.
A special thank you to Peter, Kelly and Eliza for your help organising the event.
Thank you Richard for supplying us red wine - which we loved - at less than wholesale cost.
Thank you Foxglove for donating the $100 voucher for the raffle.
Thank you to the people who donated the white wine (from a previous Eat So They Can event).
Thank you Grace, Kent and Miko for your sensational sales skills, you guys rock!
Thank you Melissa for letting me host a dinner, in your house, hours before we get on a plane.
And thank you all for a wonderful evening, generous donations and offering your continued support for more events like this in the future.
Congratulations to Ralf on winning the raffle.
Here’s how the donations added up:
- Raffle, Wine and book sales $671.90 (2 x deposits online - $617.80 and $54.10)
- Purchase of surplus wine (smile) by me $36.00
(we bought 12 bottles of red for $12 each and drunk 9 of them) - Online donations (to date) $155 NZD (based on currency conversion).
You can see details of the donations on the event page.
Based on the exchange rates (it’s converted into US Dollars) we’ve raised $719.73. Enough to feed 10 children for a year with one of the Eat So They Can programs.
We did well.
Thank you
Mike
p.s. if you haven’t had a chance yet you can still donate online.
p.p.s. missing you already
p.p.p.s. can you host dinner next Tuesday?

Why Eat So They Can?
A few years ago I was approached by Eat So They Can because they saw a potential link with Tuesday Night Dinners and their organisation. I research them, went out to their offices and asked them lots of difficult questions (which the answered). Because of their transparency, ethics and educational strategies(i.e. more than just handouts) I found Eat So They Can to be genuine, worthy and sustainable; which is why I’m asking for your help.
Thank you
Mike
p.s. If you can’t make it along this Tuesday, and you would like to support us, please donate online here.
Eat So They Can 2012
Good morning from London,
Many of you will remember the spectacular events where we raised money for the charity called Eat So They Can. Together we donated several thousand dollars that went to people around the world that don’t get to eat as extravagantly as us.
This year, in Wellington, my friend Kelly has organised another spectacular event - Eat So They Can Fundraising Ball at Foxglove in Wellington this Saturday. Tickets are $50 and entitle you to one glass of wine, canapes, one raffle ticket and an evening of live music and enjoyment.
If you are like me: geographically challenged, or unable to attend the party, please support this charity by clicking on the “Support this event” button on this page of the Eat So They Can website.
I know a few of you already have tickets… have fun!
